I want to switch medications, any ideas?

I have been taking Zoloft for about eight months
and it’s draining my energy. I’d like to switch my
meds but I’m afraid that nothing else will stabilize
my mood as well. Does anyone have any experiences
that would help me decide what to tell my doctor?

Antidepressants & Pregnancy

My wife is taking 60 mg Celexa daily to treat her
depression. We have just found out she is pregnant. Does
anyone know how this drug will affect the baby? Has
anyone in this group used Celexa (or any other drug in
its family) during pregnancy?

Zoloft

I suffered from Post-Partum depression after my
first child and my doctor gave me Zoloft. I HATED IT!!
Not only did my sex drive become extinct, but I had
no appetite and no conscience. I absolutely could
not produce any emotion at all. I was a zombie. I
stayed on Zoloft for nearly a year until I couldn’t
stand it any longer. When my Uncle died, I couldn’t
even cry! It was only when I got off of it that I was
able to grieve, 1 year later!! I have a family history
of depression and suffered with it for years. In my
college days, I controlled it with mood therapy, diet and
exercise. But after my son was born, I got out of control.
After the Zoloft, I stayed off meds for a while, hoping
to do better on my own. I then had my daughter and
sunk down again. My doctor put me on Paxil and I
stayed on it for a year and a half. I just recently went
off (about 2 months ago) and I am feeling great!! I
am finally in control again! I am continuing with
mood therapy, diet and exercise, but I’m medication
free! Paxil was better for me than Zoloft. It
controlled the depression, yet I was able to have necessary
emotions without becoming out of control with them. I
recommend Paxil for anyone not satisfied with their
medication!
